Notes from Town Hall
Randy Alexander of the Bridgeton Community Watch, presented to the room and plans to institute a system of "Block Captains" to improve communication between citizens and the Bridgeton Police Department.
Kim Maxey, New Bern M P O, Presented a new initiative for planning bike and walk paths for Bridgeton. All planning will be done free and any work initiated could be done jointly with state and federal monies with Bridgeton's share being only 20% of the total.
Bridgeton's Town Council voted to pay for the Blueberry Festival's insurance. Also passed was a motion for the town to supply electrical power and lights for the Vernon Blades Park.
Police Chief Rick Barney reported that speeders through town are now being cracked down upon.
Town expenses were covered.
Bills against the town were authorized to be paid.
Abatement issues on C Street were discussed.
